Creating a Matrix Question
Due to popular demand, we have added a new question type called Matrix. It allows you to ask your participants to provide feedback on multiple items and multiple answer criteria. It also allows you to ask a follow up text-entry question to the respondent if they have select a specific answer choice.
Let's walk through it.
- Start by adding a new question. You can use the "+Add Activity" button at the bottom or by hovering over the space between questions and clicking on the blue plus sign. Your activity options will pop open. Select Matrix and click Add.
2. The blank question should open up for you to start editing. You'll want to add a headline & a description. Next, you'll start to add your Rows. These rows will contain the different items that you want your user to think about. Type in your item and then either press the enter key, or select the "+Add Row".
3. Next, add your columns. These will be the criteria that your participants score the items on. Type in your columns and press enter, or click the "+Add Column" button.
4. You'll notice that each column has the option to enable a follow-up question. This will allow the participant to type in / answer a custom follow up question you present them. To enable, move the toggle to on (shows blue) and type in your follow up question. You can also change the button text that shows up by navigating to the right-hand side panel and change the 'Follow Up Button Label". The button will only show when the participant picks the answer choice that you have enabled feedback on.
This is the participant view of the matrix question:

Once they click the 'Share feedback' the text box will slide open. The participant can 'save' the text, the text box will collapse, and they have the option to edit if they need.
